The Eclectic Society
The Eclectic Society
name invokes Hiram's earliest years when the College was known as the
Western Reserve Eclectic Institute (1850-1867). Through their generous
philanthropy, Eclectic Society members do much to preserve Hiram's
legacy while advancing the mission of the institution.
Hiram
College gratefully acknowledges the leadership of Eclectic Society
members who generously make annual gifts to the Hiram Fund ranging from
$1,000 to $50,000. These donors provide more than sixty percent of the
Hiram Fund's total dollars, and most donors leave their gifts
unrestricted with no strings attached. As you can imagine, Eclectic
Society members have a big impact on how much Hiram can achieve for
students in any given year.
The name says it all. Eclectic
Society members are eclectic. These donors include members of Hiram's
Board of Trustees, hundreds of alumni donors, members of the Alumni Executive Board, numerous
Hiram College faculty and staff, parents of current students, parents
of alumni, and friends of the College who have no direct affiliation to
Hiram at all. Many of these donors make their gifts once a year, but
many also stretch to participate at this leadership level by making
their gifts through payroll deduction, credit card payments, or other
regular installments.
