The Burke A. Hinsdale Society
Burke A Hinsdale
(1837-1900) was a student, teacher, president and Trustee of Hiram College. He
recognized the critical importance of a secure endowment to the future
of the College. Under his leadership, Hiram College received its first
planned gift in 1871 when a donor transferred bonds to the College in
return for annual payments.
The Burke A. Hinsdale Society recognizes alumni and friends of Hiram College who have made commitments to provide for the College in the future. These commitments are called planned gifts because they often require sophisticated giving techniques to maximize tax savings for the donor. Planned gifts made today will benefit Hiram College in the coming years.
Hinsdale
Society members are invited to a recognition luncheon to thank them for
their continuing support of Hiram College and receive invitations to
special College events.
