Black Box Theatre
Plans for a black box theatre on the Hiram campus have been talked about for most of the time that I have been associated with Hiram. It is time to deliver on this promise. When the Art Department is moved into its new fine art center, we plan to renovate the Frohring Art Building to establish a black box theatre, thereby providing the critical performance space that our theatre students so richly deserve.
All members of our community participate in the dramatic arts. A new black box theatre will transform the opportunities for study in theatrical performance, technical theatre and design, and theatre history and dramatic literature.
Identified is the needs assessment conducted prior to the Sesquicentennial Campaign for Hiram College, the black box theatre project must be completed in a timely manner to secure the future of our theatre program and further enhance Hiram's reputation for strength in the fine arts.
